Introducing Harry Herringbone Fish

Harry Herringbone Fish

Harry Herringbone Fish is very very distantly related to the Herring, an oily fish in the genus Clupea, whose tiny parallel bones have inspired artists, architects, jewelers, and cabinet makers for centuries.  A Brief Look at the History of the Herringbone Pattern from couture furniture designers at Bespoke Minnesota is a great introduction to Harry’s distant relatives and to the work that they have inspired.

 Harry's Family

Most herring are silvery, and they forage in large schools of fish. Harry’s shy and reserved family is relatively small and they all swim in family groups in the Caribbean where they are often mistaken for exotic tropical fish. While they are very happy with their present circumstances, they have been approached by International Aquatic Artists (a very famous management firm), about representation. There is an intense debate within the family about whether they should begin to develop a higher profile and to engage in commerce.

Origins

Harry Herringbone Fish was painted on 140# Arches paper. Should you want one of his prints through imagekind.com, I recommend Ultra Smooth Fine Art paper.
